Hello Readers,
It feels like summer and back to school activities have most of us swirling — both in joy and anticipation, and admittedly with a little stress. I hope we all get a restful, therapeutic, and joyous holiday weekend!
Take a few deep breaths, and settle into knowing that the pause and fun are what charge us up to hit the ground running, so we can thoughtfully address end of year activities and planning.
In this message, I have a few, quick questions for you; highlight two stories of resilience (1 a bit more human, 1 a bit more business); and share some things you told me after my last message (and my idea to address some of that, in September).
* Here is the super-secret “friend” link 😉 to my article on companies’ managing in this fast changing world – the complexities, culture shift, and the basic mindset for long-term successful management. It is the first of my article series on the alphabet soup of corporate citizenship (24 published, 5 more coming before the end of the year!)– about changes in how we make impact, and how I got into this field. * The Oak and The Reed – eyeing Aesop’s fable. A story and reflections on strength & flexibility, from our resilience initiative, experiencetoresilience.com or E2R. Click the image below to check out the 2 minute read. Alternatively, check the summary/slides on our new E2R instagram. |
Feedback and how many of you were/are feeling + a thought:
When I wrote you in July and August, I mentioned this wonderful program I was facilitating starting mid-August. It’s a really helpful, science & experience based framework and program (I’ll share a few short videos on the science underlying it, soon) to limit our self-sabotaging behavior, shift our habits, and help us spend more of our life responding with a grounded, growth, positive mindset. And it’s incredibly powerful in helping navigate the transitions so many of us are going through — from summer to prepping the end of year, new opportunities or corporate reorganizations, family changes, etc.
Many of you (both men and women) mentioned that you were busy dropping your kids off at college, and were feeling challenged by the mix of emotions, and feeling some of your purpose slip away, and wondering how to re-define that.
After the 1:1 conversations we enjoyed, I decided to offer another navigating-transitions-and-maximizing-our-sage program, for anyone interested, starting September 16. More information here and FAQ
Wherever and whoever you are, whether alone or with others, take a moment to breathe deeply, acknowledge any pain, and see the beauty, joy, and timelessness around you, bonus if you’re in nature…. But it’s also there in the cities. Image on left by Julia Malinowska for CaptureNow; on right, by ueuaphotos for GettyImages.
And now, my 3 questions for you: 1. Would you fill out this one question survey, click here to help me better understand why people enrolled and didn’t in the 8-week-mental fitness for busy folks and transition times program (described in my July 26 and August 12 newsletters) 2. My focus & invitation to stick around or unsubscribe — I’m going to be sharing stories of resilience, both personal and organizational. The organizational side will have a particular focus on what I call the alphabet soup of corporate citizenship, ie companies growing with integrity and long-term thinking. And, occasionally I’ll throw in a few leadership coaching tips & stories. I’ll do that here about once or twice a month. If you’re interested, please stay around. If you’re not especially interested in these topics, we all get so many emails, unsubscribe (link at bottom), and no hard feelings. Either way, be well and I look forward to the next time we cross paths. 3. Please share my contact information and my calendly, ifyou know anyone who would be interested in those topics. You can even forward this newsletter with your one-liner. I promise I won’t add them to the letter distribution unless they ask, and I would be happy to offer a free, 30 minute mini-coaching session (a $200 value) or discuss some of the topics. |
I hope you have enjoyed this summer. I wish you deep breaths, clear thoughts, gratitude, good health, and some silly fun. Thanks for any As to my Qs above.
Thanks for reading. Be Well,
Rachel
